The short answer

  • A vision board is a collection of images and words that represent the life you are moving toward.
  • Choose images for the feeling they give you, not only for the things in them.
  • Put it where you will see it daily and review it every few months.

Six steps

  1. Choose a focus. One board for one area of life — home, love, career, travel — is easier to feel than a board for everything.
  2. Write the feeling first. One sentence: “Slow mornings in a bright home that is mine.”
  3. Collect images that carry that feeling. Light, places, textures, moments. If an image makes you exhale, keep it.
  4. Add a few words. Two or three short affirmations or notes, such as “Booked the Amalfi trip” or “Say yes to the role”.
  5. Put it where you will see it. Your phone is the one place you look at every day.
  6. Review it. Every few months, remove what no longer fits and celebrate what has happened.

Paper or digital?

Paper boards are lovely to make; digital boards are easier to keep with you and update. The best board is the one you actually look at.

Make it more than a picture

Pair the board with a short daily moment: look at it, picture one scene, and take one small step. A board turns into progress when it changes what you do today.

How Aflora helps

In Aflora you can build vision boards from your photos, keep them private to your account, and step inside them with a narrated vision read over soft music.

Questions

How many images should a vision board have?

Somewhere between 8 and 15 is enough for a single focus. Too many images dilute the feeling.

Where should I put my vision board?

Somewhere you look every day — by your bed, your desk, or on your phone.
